Recording!

Oh yeah! I also got an opportunity to record for an album for
the third year school of worship! I am recording one track for them
tomorrow at two o'clock!!!

wish me luck!!

New Things!

Hey All!
Sorry it's been so long. Just been busy with catching up on a lot.
This past week I had the pleasure of having my brother and my Dad
visit! It was only for a short time, but it was great to see them!
We spent pretty much all of Tuesday with each other! They even
braved the cafeteria food, which unfortunately was not good.
SURPRISE! Greg actually couldn't eat anything because of his
peanut allergy. That kind of stunk but we got him fed! Other than
that, it's just been trying to rest and having rehearsals. etc. etc. etc.

On Saturday, I got my haircut! Thanks to my friend Lynn, she took the time
out to cut my hair and did an amazing job! It was exactly what I wanted!
Here's a picture.

Oh yeah, the other thing that happened was...a water fight with my RA's.
haha, good times with that one! Long story short. I was the only one
who DID NOT get wet! YESSSSS! Haha! They were great though, good sports!

And then finishing up. On Sunday was church which was great and girls game
night at Jessica Freemans! Mel, Naomi, Jessica, and I (for a bit Whitney)
ate and played games! Always a pleasure doing games with my friends!

So that has been pretty much it! Just having fun at college!
God has been working on me a lot lately. Stretching me in
difficult situations (you know, girl drama) and it's been
really teaching me a lot! Growing me into a mature woman.

Please pray for future days ahead!
I love and miss you all!

Road Trip: San Antonio

Hello There!
This past weekend (Oct.9th-Oct.11th) One of my roommates cousin goes to school at Trinity University and had room and board for us! It was a pretty awesome trip. We left Thursday night and had some pizza at a local shop. It was actually pretty good!!! Friday was the big day. First we went to the Japanese Flower Garden. It was beautiful. Here are some pictures I took there---

Here are the girls- Melanie, Mona, Tanya, and Kim (Bim)

Then after that we headed to the River Walk for some lunch!

After that there was the almighty Alamo!!!
It was prohibited to have pictures inside so it's only the oustide
re-touched ruins.

After the Alamo we pretty much just did some shopping. We did a lot of that,
being that we are girls haha! Actually- I bought a waffle maker! I got the
idea after eating breakfast at Trinity U's cafe. It was amazing! I couldn't
resist buying it!!! So yes, Julie Garbowsky has an awesome waffle maker!!!

=)

Now for some pretty pictures that I took over the course.

Enjoy!!!

I love and miss everyone!
A little homesick lately.

Been browsing my family photos and I was set on this one-

It is now my desktop background.

Sorry For The Delay!

Hey guys! So sorry for the lack in comunicatoo.
Our internet in our room one day decided to stop
working and ruin our lives. Mel even fainted a bit.
Anyway- we've been going to the Christian Center
which is down the street that has a cafe, chairs and internet!
So you got me back!

What have I been up too?

I've been sick!!

Melanie has been taking care of me at $200 bucks an hour.
My parents thought it was a good investment.
I was taking every med under the sun!
ahh!

However, over the course of time my body realized it was being
ridiculous and to cut it out, so for the most part, I'm fully better!

Tomorrow I'm getting the chance to play with Robert Quitana.
He asked me earlier this semester to join his band- Engage.
They wanted a one year commitment and i wasn't sure I could
make that decision the second week of school.
So, I said no, however kept a good relationship with him and
he has asked me to do some gigs with him. This is the first
one I am available to do!
Robert has been the Assistant Worship Leader here at CFNI
for about four years and resigned just last year, but is held
at a high standard still at CFNI. He has co-wrote songs that
are on previous albums that CFNI has put out. Very talented
and he wants me! He's awesome!

So tomorrow night is an all night prayer and they have all night worship.
He is doing a slot from 10-12 and asked me to play drums...I obviously said yes!
=)

So here's to tomorrow!

God has some great things going on here!

And oh yeah- mid terms are next week...ugh.
Madone.

Pray please! =)

I love all of you guys so much!

Amazing Weekend!

Hello Everyone! This past weekend was a blast! I got to spend Friday night to Sunday morning with my brother! He was in town for a wedding and I got to be his date ha! Friday night we went to this sandwich shop down the street from the hotel we were staying at- The Ritz Carlton. =) called Potbelly. Much like a subway but hmm.. classy-er. Very nice! Then we pretty much crashed and got to sleep in! Off we went to breakfast at Cafe Brazil. AMAZING FOOD! Greg ordered so much the waiter had his eyes bug-eyed as he went on and on haha! The waiter even needed extra help from a fellow waiter to get all the food out!! lol, afterward we resided in the hotel room, relaxed, and ordered The Love Guru with Mike Myers. Hilarious movie! Quick got ready for the wedding and off we went! I actually saw the director of my school there, (He even recognized me ha.) and the director of the third year school of youth! (The bride and groom met here at my school) Ceremony was beautiful and the food and the reception was even better! My favorite part was the Martini Mashed Potato Bar. (Mashed potatoes, bacon bits, butter, cheese, chives...Heaven on earth in a martini glass) It was a dry reception which was very very cool of them to do! For those of you who don't know what that is- its a reception without alcohol. After the night was over Greg was eager to go to sleep since he had to be out of the hotel by 5:45. Of course woke me up and I ended up watching Step by Step and Sabrina the Teenage witch till the sun came up! Melanie picked me up not too long after I hit insanity of watching tv from the 80's. We hit up IHOP which always reaches perfection! Viva la French Toast- hash browns, eggs, two bacon strips, three french toast pieces...all went into MY BELLY! =0

And we made it through okay from Hurricane Ike. Houston got hit pretty hard- keep them in prayer. Dallas just felt the rain and winds from the outskirts of the spirals. Thank you for all your text and calls! Scary for a bit but it was all good!

Here's a video of my team that my friend put together of our team and a song!
Enjoy!

I've tried to upload some of the songs we've done but my internet won't let me for some reason. However my friend had some better luck and uploaded my audition songs. That video is below.

This week was our first week playing!
We did "The Time Has Come" -Tuesday
"You Are My World" -Wednesday
"At The Foot Of The Cross" -Thursday
"The Lord Reigns" -Friday

Orange Team is AWESOME!
Here's a shot of the team!

Couldn't ask for more anointed people!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

P.S.- It got back to me that there's a "rumor" that my brother plays in the Jonas Brothers. Haha. :-/ Here we go, secret's out!

First week of school!

First week of school has been great!

My school day looks like this-
8-8:35-- Chapel (worship)
8:45-9:35-- First Hour
9:35-10-- Break
10-10:45-- Second Hour
11-12-- Lecture (with guest speakers)

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
I have Old Testament (First Hour)
and Creation Science (second hour)

Tuesday and Thursday
I have Real Christianity (First Hour)
and Holy Spirit (second hour)

All great classes with great teachers!

Things have been amazing here! The people and speakers are just
groundbreaking! It's like being at a International Worship Institute
but for 3 years straight! haha. (unfortunately no Steak n' Shake every night)
haha!

God is on the move in a powerful way and I'm learning so much more about him!
Think about this- How do you get to know someone?
You spend time with them- so why don't we spend the needed time with God
like we should? Why do we think of it as a chore? It should be something
we can't go to sleep without doing!!! Just a nugget. =)

Audition Update- I had auditions on Tuesday!
People high-fived me afterwards because I was
the only girl drummer and they thought I was great!
Haha, but by the grace of God I have that talent and
all the praise be to Him!

Wednesday I saw my name on the call back sheet! woo!!!

Thursday was interviews!
To get a final feel on who we are and what are purpose is
for being on stage.
So my questions were-
1) How long have you been in the worship ministry?
I answered about five years and then went on to
name the three different ministries I've served in.

2) What is the purpose of being apart of a worship team?
I answered to bring the congregation into the presence of God.
Also- while playing it's a prayer for that congregation, something
God wants to instill in those people at that time.
But ultimately to bring the congregation into the throne room.

3) What drew you to come to Christ for the Nations?
I answered that I heard about it through the mail and also
my best friend goes here and I learned a lot about it through
her. After months of praying about it, I knew I was supposed to
go here but my parents and guidance counselor was highly opposed
since it's not a accredited. But after attending a worship conference
at CFNI, God told me this is where I'm supposed to be. So my parents,
after picking me up to from the airport I told them and they said- ok!
Lets get you an application.

4) What's your favorite scripture verse?
I answered-- ahh, aaaaaa, hmmmm.
Yeah I went totally blank. I said I don't remember the verse.
So they said well if you just give us the base of it..
so I said it has to do with the singers going forth in battle first.
So they were like oh ok good good.
Then I recovered and said I'll fallback on John 3:16 haha.
They laughed.

=) then it was over!

Now I'm home relaxing in my A/C apartment- Thank God!
Because my hair immediately curled (my bangs which I keep straight)
when walking out the door.

Thanks Jesus! =)

I met some pretty awesome people while being here!
Anna, Kaylan, Hairy, Kim, Tanya, Josh, Jacob, Caleb, etc.

Fun fact- If any of you are familiar with the Revelation Song..
Kari Jobe sings it who is big down here (she went to CFNI)

hmm.. yeah I am friends with her brother! Who is so unbelievably
funny I might pee my pants while talking to him one day!

So that's my life right now!
So amazing.
God is great!

If you haven't talked to God in awhile- just take five minutes to
say hey God, thanks for everything you've done in my life. You're
awesome! To you be all the glory!

He misses you.

-Jules

Jesus I pray for all of those who are unsure of Your plan for their life,
I pray that you'd just instill in them Your will. So that they would
follow.

First Day of College: Moving In.

Whew! After a six hour delay for our flight, we finally got on the plane around 11:45! Got to Texas at 2:20am. Once getting luggage, rental car, and to the hotel it was 4am. My allergies were horrendous! Parents and I passed out on our mediocre beds and had four hours to sleep before having to get up to get to eat and school to check in and get housing arrangements. Got to the school and there were 6 steps that I needed to make my way too. At step one I met this girl Stephanie who lived about ten minutes away and rides horses. I MET A COWGIRL! haha. She's awesome and lives in my apt. complex! My RA's are pretty cool too! Came by to make sure I was ok! Rene, Dani, and Heather! And no--haven't told anyone that I kind of know the Jonas Brothers Bass Guitar player. =)In fact- Heather's cell phone ring is SOS by the Jonas Brothers. Go figure! Anyway! We got to get a bite to eat at Panera then off to Target to spend 1.5 million dollars on food, appliances, and decorative things! I am set for about a year! haha! Got all unpacked for the most part and everything in place. Even made pasta for my parents for dinner!! Now, here I am back in the mediocre hotel and watching TV for the last time! Just exhausted--but a good exhausted! God has been so great already! Tomorrow brings 2 orientations starting at 1pm.

Bring it on!

Lord, open doors with people! Teach me patience and understanding with my roommmates.
amen!

I'm going to lay this out plain and simple...

So here I am lying in bed realizing this is it.
Last Thursday in Jersey for like 16 WEEKS!
It's hard when it comes to a realization of reality.
Breaks your heart when you see all the people, friends, family,
even the annoying people you have to leave behind.
But- all of those people I'm leaving behind couldn't be
more supportive! All their prayers, love and grace they've
shown me, I will carry with me on my journey. I love them so much!!!
God really provides in times of difficulty. It's amazing how he
just wants us to cry out to him so He can hold us and say-
"there, there, It's ok, I have you know- you're safe with me. I know the plans I have for you and they won't bring you down."
God is always on the move and has His hand over everything!
We just need to learn how to let go of control sometimes, as hard as that is!
It all is to make us stronger and to spill out over to the people around us.
If God fills us with something or puts us through a situation it can't help
but to pour out and effect people in the most positive way!!! How crazy. huh.
We will never understand His ways, but in the long run- at the solution
we take a deep breath and say- "God you were right all along!"

Trust is the keyword.

Always there- cry out- He's waiting to hold you in His arms.

I pray Lord for the brokenhearted, downcast for you have them int he palm of your hand. ready to pick up the pieces and put them back together. Let us relax and know that you, and only you are in charge and know the right way for us. A father would never lead his son into danger, but let's him experience a bruise or cut only to show the son that he's there to hold him and say- there, there it's ok, I have you.
And the cut or bruise will always heal.

amen.

Prayer Request: Erik Tornquist

About three weeks ago our family friend, Erik Tornquist was in a motorcycle accident down the shore (NJ). His left leg was badly injured and the doctors did all they could to save it, but infection set in, not only in his leg but the rest of his body, and they had to take his leg. Ever since, he has been doing as well as could be imagined. I want to ask all of you who read my blog to just give a prayer for him before you go to bed. That God would lessen his pain and show His glory through this tough situation. If you want, you can even leave your prayers as comments, I believe Erik reads this blog once in awhile. Every prayer is appreciated. Thank you so much!

IWI (International Worship Institute) 2008!!!

Day One: Got there around noon, picked up car then Kristina.
Kristina ended up losing her luggage, but then was quickly
found by Pastor Sam (it was on his flight! ha!) We went to
Cheddar's to eat then off to Target for some food and water!
Then it was crashing time- off to a good start with sleep!
Oh- Chuck was stuck at EWR, he was flying standby with Matt.
Matt got a first class seat that day. Chuck had to go home
and try again the next day. =(

Day Two: Woke up with a great night sleep behind us! Hung till
lunch at Red Robin! My Dr. Pepper was poisoned with gross chemicals
that were left in the soda machine after cleaning it! Tasted like
burnt popcorn mixed with my beloved Dr. Pepper! AHH THE HUMANITY!
(credit: Seinfield- Numan) Food was good. Went back to the hotel
to check in for the IWI! WOOO! Hung out for a bit and explored the
hotel! COFFEE AND THE POOL! YEAHHHHH! In no time we were going to
the first session (opening day) for the IWI! Great time of worship
and prayer!

Then- you guessed it! STEAK 'N SHAKE for a nutritious
dinner. Ha!

Oh yeah- Roy fended off loiters from his milkshake.
Thats my Pres!

(Julie's Fan Club Officers-
El Presidente: Roy
Vice President: Mike
Secretary: Pastor Sam
Treasurer: El Lucho
Librarian: Chuck
Internal Affairs Director: Matt)
Just an FYI!

Day Three: Chuck made it!!!!!!
Opening Session then off to Buffalo place.
Almost went to "Bone Daddy's" Until not surprisngly
was a little, in melanie's words- "Hotterish"
Yeah...nontheless we went to this Buffalo place for unbelievable
slow service! UGH!
After a horrible lunch we had two sessions of one hour classes
then hanging out till the general session, which lead into Steak 'N Shake
at around 10:30 (yeah- it was a normal practice)

Day Four: Pretty much the same routine.
Session.
Lunch.
Classes.
Hang out.
NERTZ WITH EL LUCHO!
I beat him, of course! haha- just kidding! He really catches on quick!
I was sweating bullets playing him!

Session.
Sonic!!!!!!!!

This was an especially special day because God has delivered me from
a fear, ridiculously as it was, He provided through a speaker that night.
Steve Fry. I would be nervous to try new foods. A fear I'd have an allergic
reaction to it. That night, Steve said, "When Satan attacks on your weakness,
he's showing his weakness." Yeah, think about that for a minute. God is so much
bigger than stupid satan. ha! Amen!
That's why- Day Five tells about me eating tacos which was me sticking it to satan!!!!!!

Hallelujah!
I'm not afraid anymore!

Day Five:
Waffle House.
Session with Bob Sorge!!
Who brought forth an amazing message about the loyalty between God and us.
We need to by loyal- only then will be become a friend of God.

El Fenix- I ordered Tacos! Amen!

Classes.
Nap.
Hang out.

Nertz with El Lucho and Mike!

Session.
Last night of Steak 'N Shake!

Ah yes- the stink eye!!!!!

Overall- it was truly a time of refreshment of new ideas!!!!
God is really going to move in Evangel church!!!
Thank you Jesus!
I'm implementing a new idea to my blog.
Praying after every blog entry!

I pray that you help us bring forth these new ideas that we have
learned to better ready Your people to worship and live their lives
for you everyday! Amen!

Graduation Party

What an amazing day!
A lot of preparation!

loved ones could keep up with me!
Please- keep reading to follow me on
my journey!

1-800-FLOWERS...Success!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I've been working and doing school work..and blah blah blah. I'm on Spring Break right now and enjoying it to the hilt. My best friend, melanie is actually home right now just for a couple of days for a wedding. So we are going SHOPPING TODAY! YEAHHHH!!! Ha. Anyway. Work is going great! Actually its funny we have the same radio station on every time I work there. So I hear the same songs ...ALL THE TIME! AHH! So pretty much my theme song for this point in my life is definitely "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles.
Whenever I hear it I think of flowers, sweeping, cleaning, and standing around waiting for customers. haha.
Sweet.

till then.

peace.
